For those that may not know, the City of Bulverde beat out Placerville CA for first place honors in the National Night Out Awards for 2020. An honor we hold dearly and fought for many years to attain. For several years Bulverde would place in the top 5 and received 2nd place a few times as well, we just couldn’t get over the hump. Last year we slipped down a few spots but were still in the top ten in the Nation. This will be our last pre-event article so hopefully we can reach as many residents and businesses as possible. National Night Out sponsors and hosts are invited to allour pre-NNO events which includes our Senior Luncheon and the Host/Sponsor appreciation dinner. Sponsors have several great advertisement opportunities as well. 100% of everything we receive from sponsorships goes back to the community through our events.Anyone interested in hosting, sponsoring, or just looking for an event in their neighborhood can contact Debbie Lisso at the police department at (830) 438- 3612 ext 217. Sponsors can also contact Rhonda Zunker with the BSB Chamber of Commerce for sponsorship opportunities. We look forward to another successful National Night Out in Bulverde for 2022, but we cannot do it without you the community.Bulverde/Spring Branch Angels Are Preparing To Bring Christmas MagicBy Cindy HurstTo Needy ChildrenThe calendar may say September and the thermometer may still read over a hundred degrees in the Texas Hill Country, but the Bulverde/ Spring Branch Angels are already underway preparing to bring a bit of Christmas Magic to needy children in our community. In 2021, the Bulverde Angel’s Annual Christmas Tree Project provided gifts to approximately 550 area children. Our mission is to provide each child with gifts that they have specifically requested from Santa. Every year we place our Angel’s Trees in a variety of schools, churches, businesses and in the Mammen Family B/SB Library. You’ll find our trees up in the community thefirstweekofNovember. Weencourage everyone to visit one of the trees and select an ornament that lists a specific request from one of our children. Upon selecting the gift you would like to donate, you will need to shop for it, wrap it and return it to an Angel’s Tree by December 10th in order that we may have the gifts ready for parents to pick them up on December 16th.If you don’t like to shop, you may wish to donate funds instead, allowing us to shopI Spy With My Little Eye...
